Lucky Number Seven
We remember one couple in particular, their names were Joe and Jill. They had been married for eleven years, and had three kids. For thirty minutes or so, they talked about "making it to year seven". The first seven years were supposed to be the toughest. They told stories of how the "honeymoon" would end, kids would challenge the relationship, and it would be hard to find time for one another.
Today, March 6, is our seventh wedding anniversary. Like a good cheese or wine, I think our marriage just gets better with age. It may not always be a party, but it's always a good time.

A late Valentine memory
Anyhow, with it being Valentine's Day, I took a tip from my good friend over at Put Together Mom for how to keep their busy bodies entertained. We started with the homemade Valentine's.
We began by cutting out heart shapes out of construction paper.
We made brownies for Katie's classroom friends,
and rice crispy treats for Daddy and all their neighborhood friends,
and cookies...just for us! We like cookies!
When Daddy got home, there were no fish to be had. But, plenty of smiles all around. Having Daddy home was the only Valentine they needed.

I love you
It must be fitting that it's Valentine's Day weekend, because all I can think of tonight as I sit in the dim light of my office is how much I love our children. It's funny to think how different they are, yet so perfectly matched. They know just how to make me laugh, and unknowingly make me cry. Tonight...I did both at the same time watching our son talk.
This is our little man. He will be three years old in April. You wouldn't know he is any different from other 3 year old boys by looking at this photo. His smile speaks volumes, no?
The one with the tree is fun too.
